Ode to a Dragon

O’ mighty beast of fire and air
How do you caress the sky?
Living within the deepest lair
You dare mortal heroes try
To steal your horde of wealth and gold,
To gain glory, and make a legend.
You graceful serpent of time untold,
With claws and teeth to rip and rend.
From your mighty maw to tail-end,
Intelligence and Power are your very being
And permeate all about you.
A might and grace which few have seen,
And those who see this to-rare sight
Are left enchanted, soul burning bright.
