Evolution

First upon earth, the darkness sent,
The memory of stones, it shall be wrent
From mortal eyes and aching soul
To feed the bastion, demons toll.

Living pyres of flaming rage,
Stoke the climax, set the stage.
Tears glaze o'er a newborn’s eyes,
As its future slowly fades.

Peace and harmony, love and joy
Lost forever, and eternal Troy,
Buried beneath the sands of time
A remnant of a fairer clime.

Oceans of pain, tempest-tossed
Waves rush in, collect the cost,
Of bargains made with higher powers,
During humans darker hours.

The winds of change, a cruel hard blast,
Distort the future, erode the past.
And in the end both king and slave
Rot as one within the grave.
